IP & Rights Protection

Overview

The NUBI Universe Intellectual Property (IP) Protection Portfolio is built on four pillars — Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). Together they protect the brand, the creative works, any novel technology, and the confidential material behind the franchise.

Our goal is simple: keep the characters, stories, and world consistent, original, and safe — for the team, for partners, and for the community who love them.

Trademarks

Trademarks protect the brand identifiers that audiences recognize. Within the NUBI Universe these may include, without limitation:

• The NUBI name and the “NUBI Universe” wordmark.
• Character names such as NUBI, Buddy, TOBI, FIX, and the broader cast.
• The crown-and-coin logo, the tagline “One Little Guy. Endless Stories.,” and related brand marks.

Trademark rights help prevent confusingly similar uses on related goods and services (merchandise, media, apparel, toys). Registration is pursued in key classes and territories as the brand grows. All marks are used as adjectives alongside the correct goods/services and with appropriate notices (™ for unregistered, ® once registered).

Copyrights

Copyright protects original creative expression the moment it is fixed in a tangible form. Across the NUBI Universe this covers:

• Character designs, model sheets, and illustrations.
• Comics, scripts, storyboards, and written stories.
• Animated reels, episodes, music, and sound.
• Website design, copy, and original UI artwork.

Where available, key works are registered to strengthen enforcement options. Copyright notices (e.g., “© 2026 NUBI Universe”) appear on published works. Reproduction, distribution, adaptation, or creation of derivative works without written permission is not allowed except as set out under “Community & fan use.”

Patents

Patents protect novel, non-obvious, and useful inventions. While the heart of NUBI is creative, the franchise may develop protectable technology, for example:

• Interactive tools, toy mechanisms, or smart collectible features.
• Original software methods or systems used in products and experiences.

Where an invention qualifies, protection may be sought through provisional and non-provisional filings. Until filings are in place, related details are treated as confidential and shared only under NDA (see Pillar 04).

Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)

NDAs protect confidential and pre-release material — unreleased characters, scripts, designs, business plans, and technical information. We use NDAs with:

• Collaborators, freelancers, studios, and contractors.
• Manufacturing, licensing, and distribution partners.
• Anyone given access to non-public NUBI Universe materials.

NDAs define what is confidential, how it may be used, how long obligations last, and what happens to materials when work ends. They are a first line of defense that keeps the universe’s surprises safe until release.

Enforcement & reporting

We monitor for unauthorized use of NUBI Universe IP, including counterfeit merchandise, copied artwork, and misuse of names or logos. Where appropriate, we pursue takedowns, platform reports, and other remedies available under applicable law.

Community & fan use

We love the community and non-commercial fan creativity — fan art, memes, and tributes made with care. As a courtesy, please don’t imply official endorsement, don’t use the marks on merchandise for sale, and don’t alter logos. We may publish more detailed fan-use guidelines over time. These goodwill guidelines do not waive or limit any rights.
